No matter what we plan to do with the Immutable wallet, we will have to fund it anyway. It is necessary to have at least a few cents in IMX tokens. This is necessary to pay for transactions in the Immutable zkEVM network. For example, if we want to withdraw and sell the Daimonds earned in IN-MATCH3, we will not be able to do it with a zero balance. Therefore, we need to earn at least a few cents.
This can be done in several different ways. First of all, go to https://play.immutable.com/balance/Β or just click on the word Balance (see screenshot) and we will see a window with all the ways to replenish the balance.
The first one allows you to buy IMX by paying with a VISA card or through ApplePay or GooglePay payment systems. These methods will suit you if you don't want to dive into the world of cryptocurrencies. The only thing to take into account is that the commission for using these methods is about $1.5 plus the bank's commission for currency conversion if your account is not in USD.
The Bridge option is for experienced crypto-enthusiasts. Through this bridge you can transfer your crypto assets from other blockchain networks to Immutable zkEVM. Very low fees, usually less than $0.5 regardless of the transfer amount.
CEX Deposit allows you to fund your Immutable wallet directly from a crypto exchange. There are many different crypto exchanges available and among them all the most common ones - Binance, ByBit, OKX, MEXC, etc. For an example, let's fund our account with 5 dollars from OKX exchange.
To do this, select OKX exchange in the top field, specify USDC token and BSC withdrawal network.
Click Swap now....
Next, we will confirm our address, agree to the conditions of replenishment and receive the address to which we need to make a withdrawal of 5 USDC from OKX.
After that we withdraw funds from our exchange in the usual way.
It is worth noting why I chose USDC token and BSC blockchain. First of all, I plan to spend these funds to buy Prismars, so I will need USDC, as Prismars are sold for them. The second reason is that it is possible to withdraw IMX from the exchange, but the only blockchain through which it can be done is Ethereum and the total fees for deposits will be very high.
The BSC network was chosen for the same reason, as the withdrawal fees were the lowest at the time of the transfer. Bridge commissions are shown on the window where you select the network, and exchange commissions you can see when you start to withdraw. Just choose the network where the amount of commissions will be minimal. For example, I sent $5.1 from the exchange and received $4.795 on my wallet. That is, the commission amounted to $0.305, which is quite acceptable.
But since we need IMX to pay commissions, we will change $0.5 to IMX on the swap page. This amount is more than enough for commissions for a very long time.
WARNING: When performing transactions pop-up windows appear very often. Don't forget to give permissions for them in your browser, otherwise you may have difficulties with signing transactions.
That's it! We have successfully funded the Immutable wallet. We have both tokens for paying commissions and tokens for purchases on https://market.ongame.dev/explore. If you don't plan to buy anything, the replenishment amount of $0.5 will be quite enough.
